CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
ROMIP is a Russian initiative for independent evaluation of information
retrieval methods, which operates since 2002. In many ways, ROMIP is
similar to its international counterparts - TREC, CLEF, and NTCIR. ROMIP
prepared and made available for research a number of data sets. A
distinctive feature of ROMIP is the use of Russian language collections and
active participation of researchers from Russia.
This year, participants are offered two sets of tasks ("tracks"):
sentiment analysis tracks and image tracks.
Sentiment Analysis tracks are new for ROMIP. The task of the participants -
to classify a collection of user reviews into 2, 3 or 5 classes according
to their sentiment (negative - positive). Objects of review are movies,
books,
and digital cameras.
Image tracks: constructing pseudo-panoramas from an image collection (new
track), content based image retrieval, and automatic image annotation.
Complete description of the tracks can be found at:

We invite developers, researchers, undergraduate and graduate students to
take part in tracks. Participation is free of charge. Application for
participation can be submitted via ROMIP website:
