This group is for discussion on Egypt's royal mummies. Much has been written about the royal caches of DB 320 and KV 35 as well as Tutankhamun and the body from KV55, but there have been other remains discovered that are not so well known.
These include the mummy of Queen Meryetamun, the prince still lying in KV43, the arms of Ahmose Tumerisy daughter of Amunhotep I, knee fragments from the tomb of Queen Nefertari and the many skeletal remains from tombs of the earlier dynasties. Also some royal mummies have been found in recent times but are now lost to us, such as Queen Aahotep and King Kamose.
While there have been various publications on the mummies, as far as I know not one list exists publicly of all royal bodies or body parts in existence. This forum is for information on and discussion about not only the well known surviving mummies but also lesser known royal remains and other bodies found in the Valley of the Kings.
PLEASE NOTE: This group is for discussion on EGYPT’S ROYAL MUMMIES. While some other Egyptian areas will be connected to this subject, such as tombs and burial practises, only on topic posts
and uploads will be retained in the group.
Sam has been cross-posting on this topic to several groups, some of whose members are by now confused as to what is going on. I will post the original answer
