I was working on the wrong box... you're right, Trond, it was v6.2, not 7.

You shouldn't lose anything.

You can download the rpm v4 rpms in rpm v3 format from ftp.rpm.org and
work your way up from there, but I think upgrading is easier and less
prone to "something doesn't work quite right".
