Dear all,

Sometime ago last year, I uploaded a Service Status module for RSS
1.0.

I now have what I think is a robust java based Service monitor
application which will periodically "ping" services via various
protocols (ftp, http, z39.50 etc - I'm looking into adding JMX
support), and generate a dynamic RSS feed based on their
availability. The application can be configured an maintained
through a web interface.

I hope to release this as OpenSource soon - at the moment it is
functional but the admin interface is a little crude (but can be
configured via XSLT) and the documentation is minimal! However, if
anyone is interested in trying this, please let me know and I'll
send them the .war file. I'd appreciate the feedback.

The application requires JDK 1.4, TomCat 4 and Cocoon 2.
