Hi folks,
I was about to email this to one of the Board members, but I figured
I'd post here instead since other people may have the same questions.
I just browsed rssboard.org, and my understanding is that the
purpose of the RSS Advisory Board is to clarify the existing RSS 2.0
specification. If this is true, then great - a clear set of specs
would help everyone in the RSS community (including myself). I'm
especially glad to see HTML and escaped text being discussed, since
this is an area that has been a problem for RSS developers for far
too long.
However, I'm concerned that a side goal of the Board is (or will be)
to come up with a revised specification that "fixes" RSS 2.0,
resulting in a new version of RSS. Is this concern justified, or am
I reading too much into these posts?
Also, I have to ask: what is Dave Winer's role in this? When I
heard that the RSS Advisory Board was starting again, I assumed it
was his doing. But I don't see any posts from him - is he keeping
quiet, or is he not involved here?
Thanks,
---
