We are a NYC-based gaming company with 60+ employees. We are
rapidly growing and need to add real talent to our server side
engineering group. We are looking for both a senior RoR programmer
with management capabilities and also a junior programmer with RoR
or Java experience.

More specifics are as follows:

SENIOR POSITION

Requirements:

- 5+ years programming experience (in Java, Ruby, C/C++ or other
enterprise-level languages);
- 1+ year of experience with the Ruby language (expert knowledge
with Ruby as a language is required!);
- 3+ years experience in managing a group of 3-5 programmers;
- solid knowledge of the Linux operating system;
- knowledge of object patterns and abstraction;
- knowledge of database servers/data queries (mySQL a plus);
- experience in enterprise-level applications

Nice to have:

- experience with Java;
- experience with JavaScript;
- experience with jQuery and Prototype libraries
- experience with Active Message Queuing;
- experience with cloud computing, such as Amazon S3

Company objectives:

- Revamping, extending, and maintaining a Rails-based platform
system which mimics the objectives and capabilities of Java Beans;
- Designing and developing backend servers for wireless and online
games and applications;
- Developing and maintaining content management tools for games and
applications


JUNIOR POSITION

Requirements:

- 1-2 years of experience programming in Java or RoR (work will be
done in RoR, but Java experience is applicable to learning our
approach to RoR);
- strong knowledge of OOP concepts;
- solid knowledge of the Linux operating system;

Nice to have:

- experience with Web 2.0 applications
