Assembla is seeking developers and designers for our Ruby on Rails
development team. Assembla uses an "inspired by open source" process
to work with top developers and designers from around the world.

We are looking for 10 top Web developers and designers to work on our
own products and on products for our clients who are launching Web 2.0
products. We value talent at least as much as experience. We are
seeking developers in the top 10% of talent and productivity.
Candidates will need to be able to work in a Rails development
environment, but we do not require a lot of Ruby experience.

If you are a top Web developer, you can work in the Rails environment,
and you are ready to work as part of a distributed team, then we want
to hear more. We will offer paid trial jobs to anyone who can install
our Rails development system and contribute a very small patch to the
development of our Breakout application. The trial will be a job that
takes approximately one week of part time work for a skilled
developer, and it will be paid at your full rate.

You can work on a trial task part-time, while you are working on your
current job. If the task goes well, then we will make you an offer or
full-time employment. You will need to provide your own computer,
networking, and workspace. So, when you send us your pay
requirements, you should include the cost of that infrastructure in
your request.

We will need some specific information.

* Please include your resume
* A date when you can work on the trial job, and the number of hours
per week that you can work.
* An hourly, weekly or monthly pay requirement
* Please send us a patch or some other information indicating that you
have set up Ruby on Rails and our Breakout development environment.
This is the only qualification that we require before offering a paid
trial.

To download the code from Subversion, you will need to register on
Assembla.com, which runs breakout, and login using your assembla.com
username and password.

If you are not applying for the Rails position, but you still want us
to consider you for a java position, please send a message indicating

will use the same paid trial process to qualify a good group of
distributed developers.
