Description

Australian plants of the family rutaceae, including the genera Correa, Boronia, Eriostemon, Philotheca, Crowea, Phebalium,Asterolasia, Diplolaena, Chorilaena, Leionema and Zieria are valuable and underutilized plants in the Australian garden. This site has been set up as a discussion point for growing and loving these plants, which have many features for the garden; shade lovers (Crowea), scented plants (boronias) and small understorey plants (well, all of them really!), from the easy to grow (Correa reflexa & alba) to the challenging (boronias!). Hopefully, those of us having trouble growing them (and those who don't!) will be able to pick up and/or share hints.

I also recommend that people consider joining the Australian Plants Society (NSW, Vic, Tas, SA), AKA Society for Growing Australian Plants (SGAP) -Qld or Canberra, or the Wildflower Society Of Western Australia, where one can learn a whole lot more. There are also study groups for both Boronias and Correas within the organisation.
Happy gardening!
