OK, so maybe it *is* well documented. But perhaps it's still more
complicated than many people expected. Maybe they were naive and didn't
want to read anything - I don't know. I was just reporting what I've
heard/read over the years. Personally I like reading computing textbooks
and manuals, but I know lots of people who believe that the way to get a
piece of software to work is to click all available buttons frantically
until something changes. They don't use any sort of methodical approach
and they don't try to match what happens to what they think they're
trying to do.
