San Diego, CA 92121 US Abstract: Glocalization, a blend in the meanings of "globalization" and "localization", refers to one of the most important phenomena in our times, which is a process of adapting a global product or service to accommodate the users or consumers in a local market. In this talk, we will first describe the importance of glocalization with examples drawn from the business world. Then, we will discuss how global brands would glocalize their websites to gain competitive advantages in China market, with an emphasis on how language and culture would impact their website glocalization strategies in China. Finally, we will conclude our talk with a brief outline of the major future research directions.
