RE: [satellitetracker] Re: OT: dark skies

This is what I used to do.. A "Mobile" 12" LX200 for asteroidal and lunar
occultations..
http://www.poyntsource.com/BREIT_IDEAS/images1.htm

And here is where I live now..
http://www.poyntsource.com/New/SetupImages.htm

I would still take it Mobile, except it is now on a homemade wedge, so I
would have to redo the drift alignment..

I still need to build a building...

Plus I don't really do Astro Imaging.. Science is my passion...

Sounds nice!
I've just gotten so used to having all my stuff in my backyard observatory
(light pollution and all) that I can hardly justify hauling all kinds of
gear out for astrophotography anymore. I used to do it all the time, but
then after being spoiled with a permanent setup, I will now just bring out a
scope to a dark place and visually play around - I can see stuff without a 5
minute exposure anyway with dark skies!
Maybe I'm just getting lazy, but bringing a battery, inverter, laptop,
camera, Lx90, DSI for autoguiding, all the cables.....then getting it all
working and aligned in the field. Just not as tempting as it used to be.
