My SCT, which was a Meade LX3 then, did not like to travel. When I took it to a
Star Party something wouldn't work, and when it was back home it mysteriously
repaired itself. It has not left home in about 9 years. The SBIG requires so
much support I never used it out of the observatory.
When I go in the field I bring an Nighthawk refractor and DSLR which is
manageable in the field.
