I have a laptop and a smaller laptop that they call a netbook.
I have a defragmenting program installed by the laptop maker that is running
in the background all the time.
I only have just under 7000 operator logos (just counted them!) in the
operator codes folder with a few more thousand military logos on the desktop
which I import as needed.
Depending how you use your logos, you could always copy them into a backup
folder which you would keep on your desktop. Delete the ones in your
original folder apart from the Airliner ones that you see over here. That
way the SBS will load up much faster. Any ones you then need you can copy
across into the original, now smaller, folder.

Hi Doug,
I've got about 5,500 operator flags & 20,000+ photos and it takes my system about 2 - 3 minutes to load.
What I have found helps enormously is to do a regular (I do mine weekly) C: drive clean and defrag.
The defrag puts all your SBS files together making it quicker and easier for the computer to find them, hence it loads quicker.
I use C: Cleaner & JK Defrag which are both available on the net & they're free!
Firstly I would like to wish all a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year and again my thanks to the team who produce these superb flags.
However ....
Since I have populated my SBS with the flags, I have noted that the time to start the SBS initially has increased somewhat. This morning it did the usual checks, but when it got to "loading operator flags", it stopped and took almost four minutes to carry on the procedure.
I compact the SQB file after each closure, but that makes no difference & I have removed all "sessions" after 5 days.
Does anyone else have this same time length in start up ? Does anyone know how to reduce this start time please.

Not sure what you mean by "netbook", but I too have XP.
Still will give Ian's advice a whirl & see if that makes a difference.

Afternoon Doug,
I have a similar problem although mine takes about 90 secs to load the
flags
and I have more than you do as I also have ones based on individual
bizjet
owners and operators as opposed to the silhouettes.
I do not use them on the netbook and that opens slightly quicker.
For info I use XP not Vista or the new kid on the block, 7.

added
Hi all,
Firstly apologies for the lack of updates on my part, Ive had a busy year
with work and unfortunately the PC running the SBS-1 fried earlier in the
year.
Not to worry though as Ive now got a new PC up and running and have updated
the MILITARY FLAG SET and COMPLETE SET accordingly.
One major change to the site www.sbsflags.co.uk is that it now runs on one
window, the main page. Ive done this A. to make updates quicker for me to
do, and B. to keep all the info in one place to aid the user. I hope you all
find it a better experience. And I hope to be able to update more often.
Thank you again for all your requests, additions and support. And once again
please accept my apologies for the seeming a little distant for a while.
Regards
Andy Hay

Can I ask if there is a flag for the above - have not seen anything obvious in those I have, nor in the files section of this list. Still exploring the thousands available so I may well have missed it.
Thanks
