FiP IS being boosted this side of the channel. I am able to pick it up in my car
all over town.

The FiP station has been available all the time and I suspect this is
because of some phenomenon that has allowed a corridor of propagation from
France over the channel to Brighton as it is not possible to get it else
where on the coast. Or the other quite possible explanation that I had been
dwelling on for some time it that someone is rebroadcasting the signal in
Brighton from a low power kit. 10w would be sufficient to get town wide
coverage. the station being picked up from the internet and broadcast from
a card and amp in the PC.
In either case - what is most likely is either the signal is switched off or
changed frequency.
Baring in mind high pressure is currently building leading to very mild and
pleasant conditions at present - if it were troposphric, then you can expect
to pick it up again soon.

The ability to pick up French radio stations in Brighton varies with
atmospheric conditions. I like to listen to France Musique. It comes
and goes. There is a phenomenon known as tropospheric propagation. See
http://www.skywaves.info/index.php?entityType=HTML&id=15. Whether
that's the explanation for FiP, I don't know.
Looking at frequencies on the Radio France website, FIP is listed at
105.1 for Paris, but not listed at all for various other cities.

We have been fortunate in parts of Brighton to be able to get
Paris-based radio FiP on our FM radios. Last week though, I tuned in
to find it had gone. Does anyone know why, or where it might now be,
apart from on the internet?
