Could you say more about how you perceive a difference/similarity between a
"project"
charter and a "team" charter?

I developed a chartering process many years ago and it included definitions for
the project
(vision, purpose, success criteria aka management tests, resources, etc.) and
for the team
(key communication flows, whole community, core team members, working
agreements,
etc.). For a team to reach alignment and understanding of its starting place and
where its
headed, it needs both kinds of information.

I'd like to know more about how you see the split.

You might ask on the yahoo "industrialxp" mailing list, since project chartering is an IXP practice and they might know of instances of team chartering as well...
