Fear Less Change - book   Message List

Anyone interested in a study group around this book?
It occurs to me that, if we are going to get Scrum into our
organisations, if we are going to create jobs for ourselves and our
buddies, then we are going to need to have some "change" tools in our
Agile toolkits.

Fearless Change: Patterns for Introducing New Ideas
by Mary Lynn Manns, Linda Rising
List Price: CDN$ 35.99
Amazon.ca Price: CDN$ 25.19

We could organise ourselves according to Josh K's 'Knowledge Hydrant"
patterns for study groups:
http://industriallogic.com/papers/kh.html
Josh is the originator of the Patterns Study Group guide on the web -
if you've been in a Patterns group, you know what I mean here: take
turns leading a discussion for which everyone has prepared in advance.

Please send replies with your feedback - I'll assume silence = apathy.
We can discuss further on Tuesday before XPTor, if there is interest.
I'll bring my copy of the book for you all to look at and spill food
on (true mark of a geek book).

ciao
deb

... I like the idea of a study group. I've never heard of this book before but if you think it's relevant then I'm willing to start with it. -- Mike Bowler ...

Linda Rising is a well-respected Agilista, who lurks on various lists. You can find links to info about her patterns here: ...

Deb, I'm a lurker on the various agile toronto groups. I work 90% of the time in the US. I would love to do something like this, but I can only be in-person...
