Dear all,
Upgrade to SDL Trados Studio 2009 for all our desktop users has particular
relevance for us. We have worked hard to ensure that Studio is a "best of breed"
solution; taking the best features of our existing applications in to the new
release.
In between the early testing and the final release of Studio, our regression
testing uncovered a compatibility issue with SDLX and SDL MultiTerm 2009 which
prevents SDL Edit from working with local termbases; server-based connectivity
is unaffected. We have already completed a fix for this in SDLX that is
currently being tested and will be released by the 1st July.
The reason for this post is to try and ensure that any SDLX users considering
upgrading are aware of this. If you rely on connectivity to local MulitTerm
termbases then we are advising for you not to upgrade until the connectivity
issue has been rectified and released. This issue does not affect those users
who work with Translators Workbench, nor of course those who have chosen to move
over to SDL Trados Studio 2009.
