Hi All,
Another good way to control minor infestations of fungus gnats is to use a thin
layer of vermiculite over the top of the soil and then letting this dry out
slightly between waterings. This provides a dry, less suitable environment for
the gnats to thrive.

Hhand down the best way to control fungus gnats (scarid flies) is to use
beneficial nematodes. They are organic and work the best. I work with them
with my commercial growers all the time. You want the species Steinernema
feltiae. Nematodes work the best because they go after the maggots in the soil
where when you drench with other products like soap, they may not come in
contact with all the larvae.
PS you can use yellow sticky cards to trap the adults
Have to run to catch plane to NC now...... later!

They are not fruit flies. They probably came in the house in the new

What can I do to get rid of them?
