Description

The goal of this group has been to create a DESIGN PROCESS which will allow the creation of a Stirling Engine to fit a specific application using the SOFTWARE TOOLS to allow an engine to be built by persons with an understanding of the Stirling Engine and manual machine tools from readily available materials at a moderate cost.

The realisation of that process can be found at the Fast Track page of the Communicable Insight website created by Dr. Allan J. Organ author of several seminal books about the Stirling engine.

We are now discussing the construction of engines using this chart based design process. We are NOT discussing the process itself.

If your pursuit of an engine can be satisfied with a kinematic air/Nitrogen or Hydrogen charged engine which has the GPU-3 as the prototype, then you are in the right place. This list will now focus on the implementation of this process by individuals. See: http://web.me.com/allan.j.o/Communicable_Insight/FastTrack.html You may post your questions about building an engine in this manner to the list. But please stay on topic.

There are numerous heat engine cycles of a similar nature to the Stirling process. Typically these are called “Hot Air Engines” of which a subset of those are classified as LTD Stirling engines (LTD = Low Temperature Differential). If this is your area of interest, you are invited to join the HotAirEngineSociety (HAES) list at YahooGroups as a place to start ( http://yahoogroups.com/group/HotAirEngineSociety).

4 D A Engine test
Hello Tom, Some power measurements have been taken on my 4 DA 800 engine. 35 Watts at 350 rpm. Very disappointing from a 800cc engine but not unexpected.

Tom, List A) the patent is over 20 years old..... B) In the APAIRS.BeLs document in the last part of section 3.1 is mentioned that and I quote "It would be

Re: Any teams out there yet??
CVH et al, Since the basic drive is patented, it appears that the modifications you made a derivative. Do you think there will be a problem with using it in

Re: Any teams out there yet??
List,   Long time the hoe(c)ken drive-train was mentioned. I didn't gave up the work on it but I understood I can't get the numbers in easy and simple
