He's wrong. Sharepoint can be a plain presentation layer tool. It can
also be a workflow engine, team collaboration, data management, document
management, and so forth. Many very large law firms are looking at
using Sharepoint 2010 as our Document Management Systems. Here at Fish,
we've been using Sharepoint since 2001. It is part of our culture. In
2001 we evaluated Plumtree, Law Portal and Sharepoint for our Intranet.
We made the right choice in going with Sharepoint. We use it for our
Intranet, Extranets, collaboration sites, internal blogs, internal
employee directory and many workflow processes. We're looking forward
to Sharepoint 2010. We've been using it as part of the Office TAP for a
while now.

Hey Folks,

Recently, during a discussion of moving our Portal from Plumtree to MOSS
2007, our chief systems engineer started yelling that MOSS 2007 is just
simply a plain presentation layer tool.

I am wondering what would be some nice quick one-line comebacks for that
comment.

Thanks,

ABB

I have two pages that use BDC information and web parts that display this
information. The first page is the account page. This page we can search using a
web part for accounts using BDC connected database. Once we find the account we
are searching for we click on the account and it takes us to a profile page.
This profile page have several web parts that display different information. The
link between the account and profile page is set somehow and I need to recreate
this on new pages in a separate site doing the same thing. Any suggestions?

As you knew, FAQ is a very important part of your website to serve
existing customers and engage new clients.

Recently I am using a tool to build a dynamic FAQ page on my
website(http://www.orderartwork.com/faq.htm)..
http://www.silkwise.com/content/viewthread_thread,14737

I found it is cool: takes me a few minutes to install and has
search, post question and other functionalities.Do you have better ideas of
using it to unlock the power of FAQ?

Thanks,
Jool.
