This would be a matter of setting up your user and group permissions
together with the meta tags at the top of your html files:

I saved a post from the old SZ Yahoo group from Bill Atchison
describing how to add multiple levels of admin secrity i.e. "Admin"
and "Superadmin" to a website. He describes how to configure it running
on a local PC which I have done and it works as advertised, but now I
need to get it working on my internet website. It appears that
the "webindex.web" file is affected and I've published the new version
to my website but it's not having the desired result.

Can someone tell me what else needs to be published to make it work
remotely?

Hi Abel,

For some reason I have not been getting notifications of post to the
forum so I am sorry that I have not responded to you before now. I
received a post yesterday from Steve P. and just happened to see
your post of the mail host problem.

I see where Paul was trying to help you. Paul is very good with
Shopzone so hopefully he was able to get it going for you. However,
I don't see if you ever resolve this so I just thought I would check
with you.

If not I will be happy to try to help if you still need it.

Merry Christmas,

Hi Steve,

I replied to this yesterday but for some reason it never posted to
the forum.

The answer to your question is yes you can skip the entire Billing
Info, & Shipping info pages altogether. We do it all the time for
Clients of ours.

It takes a few modifications to the st_tx.webc and the
st_checkout.webc page to accomplish this. If you can send those
pages from your project to me I will be happy to look at them and
see if I can make the adjustments for you. I will also remark them
so you will be able to locate them if you ever need to remove them.

We wrote the code to do this several years ago so it will take a
little research to find the necessary changes for you.

Thanks,

I have a store where I don't want to let customers edit their shipping
and billing info at checkout which means that the whole first step of
the checkout process is not neccesary. Would it be possible to go
directly to the Confirm Order page?

Thanks,

Yes it is.  Apparently one of the patches applied to the server disabled to act as an email host.  Any ideas?  We are using WIN 2000.

Yes it is, more likely, one of our patch, disabled the server to act as an email host. I need to find out how to enable that function again.  It works with all our other forms on the website, except with the ShopZone.

Thanks so much for any help

I can't find the "webc.ini" file. Could our patches have deleted it?

Where should it be and could I copy it from our backup and paste in

We have been using ShopZone 3.5 for our store and had to update our
Win 2000 servers with patches and now when someone places an order, it
gets posted on the DB, but no e-mail or confirmation page shows. It
is timing out. All they get is a page with:

"CGI Timeout
The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for
processing. The server has deleted the process."

Anyone there still using this software and have any ideas?

Thanks

The Genesis folks are good people, and it's nice to see that they've
decided to invest in the continued development of Shopzone. I'm in
contact with them now regarding the Cross Site Scripting (XSS)
vulnerability, and hopefully something can be done to modify the
webc.cgi to filter such attacks.

Why are your websites down???

No news is good news, right? But, if like myself you have had an

Thanks for pointing that out. It doesn't look like anything that
I'll try to fix! You comments about the level of support for SZ from
Automated Shops reinforces what I have experienced. Take a look at
this link:

That makes me a little nervous!

Hi Steve and thanks for starting this group. I've recently become aware
that shopzone is susceptible to Cross Site Scripting. For example, try
this link:

http://www.kci2.com/st_main.html?Submit=abc123&catid="><script>alert
(document.cookie)</script>

I've tried contacting automatedshops.com, however they seem to be in
some kind of transition, and not too keen on updated the webc code.
Does anyone has any ideas to filter the input/output to prevent this
possibility?

Bill,

Once I have published my shopzone site I never use the shopzone
interface to re-publish the database files. Instead I use WS-FTP to
upload newer versions of the ST_CATEGORY and ST_PRODUCTS db files to
the db folder on the web server. If you are interested in pursuing this
method I'd be glad to offer more details.

I'm interested in learning to use shopzone.

I have a site, that I'm having trouble publishing changes to.

A cookbook "how to" guide to basic maintenance: Adding product,
categories, etc. is what I'm looking for.

I've done a little, but more often than not, the changes appears ok on
my computer, (Shopzone Preview), but don't make it to the website
(Shopzone Publish). The biggest fear I have is crashing the site.
When I publish everything SZ says has changed, it tends to crash the
site. I'm only typically intested in publishing the CATEGORY files,
and PRODUCT files and new pictures.

A long time ago there was an active Yahoo group dedicated to ShopZone
that was a great resource to anyone using the software. At some point
the group owner decided to move the forum from Yahoo to a private
email list. That was pretty much the kiss of death as participation
came to a screeching halt.

Every once in a while I would find myself referring to the old Yahoo
ShopZone group archives for one reason or another. I was disappointed
when I recently tried to find the group, it appears that Yahoo has
cleaned house!

So, I've started this group just to see who might drop in. If your
interested, my ShopZone store is located at:

  http://www.kci2.com

I've done some customization to the program to suit our business. The
most unique feature being dynamic product tables that have custom
columns and headings on a per product category basis. I'm willing to
share my ideas with any forum member.
