Backup is now working.
Too many firewalls and not enough documentation so I wasn't getting the right
drive.
Thanks

Subject: Re: [sidewinder-users] backing up g2 appliance config
Daniel,
Are you sure the floppy backup isn't working? Depending on the number or rules
and objects, the backup may take many floppies, but the management interface
should prompt you to put in additional floppies when needed. This process is
slow, so you need to be patient.
Backing locally will end up in the /var/ partition. If you have administrative
access to the machine you are backing, you should be able to scp the backup tar
archive to another machine for save keeping.
Leaving firewall backups laying around or on machines that are less secure than
SecureOS is hazzardous behavior, so act accordingly...
If your predicessor did not leave you documentation and you have a support
contract with SCC, you can get tech support from them. If you'd like
documentation, you can order a printed manual.
Success!

I'm new to sidewinder. I tried backing up the appliance via the management
console and the only options are floppy and local. I assume that local means
local to the appliance, so I went to the floppy. The backup doesn't work with a
DOS formatted floppy. Any suggestions on how to get a non local backup.
