If you have the XP install CD, you can simply insert it in the CD drive and
restart your computer. It should begin the install process. Let us know if you

Today I pasted the address into the address bar and instead of going to the

I can see that other users have had issues. Is downloading something that needs

This is not the solution he wants, but for your information the mixer has
only a pre-amp in it. You would need an amplifier to drive speakers.

I guess I'm saying that a mixer is used to mix sounds from different audio
sources (inputs) and add sound effects then send the output to a speaker.

I would not use the computer to play the music and feed it into the mixer.

I would use another computer, music player, tape drive, whatever to feed
directly into the mixer.

Plug your mike into the mixer, and the mixer's output into the broadcast
computer.

That way, you can set the levels with the mixer, and all signals will go
down the line to the computer together.

If the combined volume is too low, go into the mic input jack instead of the
line in.

What you probably have is a very weak battery. It cannot hold a lot of
current, even though the internal circuitry says it is charged up to the
proper voltage. So as soon as you try to use it, the percentage of
charge will go from 100% to 50% to Zero percent in just a few minutes,
sometimes just a few seconds. Then when you plug the unit back in, it
will charge the battery back up to 100% in a very short time.

A good battery will take about an hour or more to fully charge, and
generally will run the laptop for a couple of hours at least.

You have a bad battery.

Hi

The first thing you should do is to please start a new Subject when you are
asking a question that is different from "Windows Updates failed after deleting
files found with rootkits"

That way people can follow your progress, and not be confused about what we are
talking about.

The second thing you need to do is to check the HP website for your computer
model to see if it ever came with XP installed. As the others have said, if it
did not, you may find that drivers for your network, video, sound etc. are not
available.

I mean my PDFs and photos etc. I have run the repair windows program, it found
no errors. Even though I had to delete the infected files that program did not
reinstall any files. All 6 files were Windows files, 2 were DirectWrite, 4
os-kernel, as opposed to other software like Firefox etc. Have run TDSSKiller,
Sophos Virus removal tool, Malwarebytes, the Microsoft Anti-Virus killer that
says it can damage your system, and Combofix. Also Windows update readiness tool
among others, so many others. Ran CCleaner, it wiped out all my Firefox history
that I rely on constantly and over 1000 cookies. I have to manually type
usernames and passwords now, really annoying.
> >
> > Bottom line is the 2 files that will not install in Windows Update are
protection against Rootkits. I do have the earlier versions of both of these
files, but still after all the scans and repairs I have done cannot install the
updated files. I cannot delete them because they have failed to install
multiple times a day since May 9th. My update history is gone and also the User
accounts was wiped out after running something Microsoft. I was surprised to
see a Trusted User account there when I looked once to see if I was still logged
on as Administrator, as at the time I was trying to run something as
administrator and the system would not let me. Eventually managed to run the
program as Administrator, that one was Sfc /scannow.

those 2 updates means this system is not fully protected even after doing
everything MS told me to do to fix the problem. The CUSTOM Install is their
final solution.

wordprocessing segment without problems. When I tried looking at the other
parts of Libre Office, Avast said they had to be run in the sandbox. Could that
be the cause of the rootkits? I have since deleted the entire Libre Office as I
got an excellent deal on WordPerfect Office X5 at Staples (39.95 instead of
99.95), haven't installed it yet though.

That is what I would do.

But the device playing the music does not have to be a computer. An iPod would
do, or any music source that you have.

You "hope someone here can help" you???

I gave you a couple of suggestions, one for each of the problems that you
mentioned.

Try them.

(the second one was to plug the mixer into the computer's mic input, not the
line in)

Let us know if they do not work, and we'll go from there.

into the mixer. Then another set back to the input on the computer from the
mixer. When I tried broadcasting the sound was very low and it was wide open and
there seemed to be a long delay from the timw the music started playing to when
it went out over the broadcast. I used a hp laptop to listen with.

Ok. Out of curiosity, why don't you simply broadcast the music directly from the
computer instead of routing it through the mixer?

Try this:

If you just need one microphone, plug it into the computer's mic input jack

Then open Windows' built-in mixer (right click the Speaker icon in the lower
right corner of your screen)

You'll see different sliders for various audio inputs, one of which will match
whatever music player you are using to play the music.

Just start the music with your Windows Media Player (or whatever you want to
use) and use the slider in the Windows mixer utility to mix it with your mic.

See if this mix will feed into the broadcast program that you want to use.

If you need more than one mic, you can still use your physical mixer to mix them
together before inputing to the computer.

Also, I just remembered that you said the Radio Shack mixer came with sound
effects. If you want to use those sound effects, you will need to plug the mixer
into the mic input jack of the computer, whether you are plugging multiple
microphones into the mixer, or just one.

I don't have all the original posts here, but here is an update on what we
finally did that worked:

We had to do a factory reset of the router, and when we tried the installation
wizard it prompted for a username and password that we didn't have.

We skipped using the installation wizard after that, and went directly to the
configuration website and set a new password.

After we got to that page, we had to configure the settings to remove the PPPoE
setting since we didn't have a username or password to access our internet. We
also had to uncheck the automatic VCI and VPI detection settings and input those
manually after we got the info from our ISP.

None of this information was found in the manual, online or on the installation
CD. We had to call our providor to give us the info.

Thanks again for all of the suggestions. I wrote everything down and put it in
a file to use if this ever happens again.

Hi Kay

First, thank you for reporting back what you did to solve your problem. It
helps everyone else.

Second, check and see if there is an option to "Save" your settings now that you
have what you want. Save them offline with you backups.

One other thing is that people sometimes "set" a password on their first attempt
to "guess" a password that hasn't been set yet.

The weird thing is it was working when we first bought it and then it suddenly

Well the solution all depends on how it is hooked to your computer. The sound
signal is transmitted out of the computer via the sound card or usb, this
requires a wire to physically be hooked to the monitor or external speakers. How
did you attach this monitor to your computer when you first got it?

Hi Sam,

We did save them and have carefully stored what we did on paper in a file in
case we have to do this again. I didn't realize there were so many items
pre-selected on the configuration site.
