I was having this problem recently in Firefox 1.0.2.

I just tried again today and it took a really long time (longer than
you'd think it should take to add a link) but eventually returned
(actually, I did it on a window I'd had open for a few days, and when
it tried to redirect back to the original site, it was unreachable,
but at least I know that simpy attempted the redirect).

I just found another problem in Firefox 1.0.2 (at least for me). I
added this link (the test I performed above) just to see if I still
had the problem. So then I went to "my links" to try to delete it.
When I click the trash can icon, I get a javascript warning and I
confirm it, but the link is never followed (it seems like the
javascript is doing a 'return false' or something). If I manually copy
and then enter the URL, bypassing javascript, the link will be
deleted. So something in the javascript is preventing the link from
going through.
