I have just started taking a serious look at Simpy...having used
pretty much every social bookmarking tool out there. My main method
of bookmark storage is anti-social (using Onfolio 2.0 professional).
I used del.icio.us primarily before that.
I will start by saying I like the interface, it seems simple, and is
generally pretty easy to use. I do seem to get errors on occasion,
perhaps more frequently than i should, but that may be that I am
online at particularly busy times.
I wanted to share a couple of thoughts, suggestions, and ideas about
the site...perhaps they will be useful.
1) One of the firs things i Noticed was that each page seems to be
named user. If I am viewing my links, or anyone elses the page (an in
turn the tab in Firefox) are all called user. Looking at multiple
tabs makes it difficult to see whose page is whose. Would be cool if
the name was more specific.
2) The new delicious interface, with the option to show the tag cloud
on the main page is very nice. I would love to see the tag cloud
brought to the main user page. I realize the tag cloud is pretty new
as it is...
3) Link history, and any sort of trending, is very cool. I would
love to see the year either dropped or reduced to 2 characters..its a
bit hard to read today. It would also be neat to click the bars and
have that range of posts displayed.
4) I think it has been mentioned, but the ability to see ALL Simpy
posts (regardless of user) for a particular tag would be valuable, as
would the ability to see all tags that have been assigned to a site.
5) Of course I would love to see 3rd party integration with Onfolio.
Its a great offlne bookmark and information manager...not to mention
a great RSS reader.
Anyway, I will be hanging around for a while, playing with the tool...
