My web page on Cloning ( www.geocities.com/skews_me/cloning.html )
hit a record last month with 1558 views from 907 new viewers. The
page typcially gets 800 views a month from 80 new viewers. I have
noticed that the statistics don't always count every page view so the
numbers are actually higher.
Though my web page on Brain Implants (
www.geocities.com/skews_me/implants.html ) has generated far more
interest by the academia -- probably because there is less written
about the history of brain implants on the Internet -- Cloning has
generated the most email from people.
I'd like to thank the Open Directory Project editor who included my
page in their listings which has apparently improved the ranking in
google and other search engines; the page has been bouncing between
page 1 and 2 of a google search for "cloning".
The downside is that my site is hosted by geocities on its free
server, meaning that only so many page views are allowed every hour.
As a result, my site is unavailable for much of every hour.
I've recently moved my Simpsons screen shots to a new site (
www.geocities.com/on_the_simpsons/ ) in order to free up not only
disk space but also available bandwidth for more page views. Google
has yet to include this site in its listings, unfortunately, so I
haven't completely removed the pages from my main site yet. (If
anyone has a copy of the hippie juice episode -- the one where Homer
learns his middle name -- and can make screen shots, please contact
me.)
Thank you all for your interest in my site(s): this group averages 8
new members a month and my website has apparently had 85000 views
since December 2002.
As always, suggestions are welcome.
