Hello,

A new beta version of Cartes du Ciel / Sky Charts is available.

The new function are :

- Azimuthal projection with custom horizon line.
- Animations
- Updated button's icon.
- Add SAC 6.2 catalog.
- Add Tycho-2 catalog.
- Selection for azimuth origin.
- World map to select the observatory.
- Predefined field of vision and orientation button.
- Limiting magnitude button.
- Uranometria 2000 charts boundaries.
- Save external catalog definition to files.
- Search external catalog.
- Search galaxy by PGC number (with the new PGC99 only)
- Variables format files for external catalog.
- Print chart title.
- Print margin adjustment.
- Better 600DPI printing.
- Access all catalogs from a DLL with memory for the last area read.
- Associate .cdc files with the software.
- Better performances
- Minor bugs corrected.
- New installation procedure.

I also put on-line today a new version for three catalog :

- Sky2000 version 2 with improved data from Hipparcos.
- Washington Visual Double Star Catalog with Hipparcos and Tycho-2 data.
- PGC1999 the last version of this galaxy catalog contain now 193'898 galaxies.

The Tycho-2 CDrom is supported by the new version and I plan to distribute
smaller binary version of this catalog.

Beware the FTP directory will not be updated until the final 2.5 version is
available. Be sure to use the link on the download page to retrieve the new
files.

All the modification related to the label or chart annotation are reported
to the next version.

Une nouvelle version beta de Cartes du Ciel est disponible.

Les principales nouveautes sont :

- Projection azimutale avec ligne d'horizon
- Animations
- Modification des icons des boutons.
- Ajout du catalogue SAC 6.2
- Ajout du catalogue Tycho-2
- Choix de l'origine de l'azimut
- Choix de l'observatoire sur une carte
- Bouton de champ predefinit et de positionnement
- Bouton de modification des magnitudes limites
- Limites de cartes Uranometria 2000
- Enregistrement des définitions des catalogues externes dans des fichiers
- Recherche dans les catalogues externes
- Recherche par numéro PGC (avec la nouvelle version PGC99)
- Catalogues externes en format variables
- Titre pour la carte imprimée
- Réglage des marges d'impression
- Amélioration de l'impression en 600 DPI
- Acces au catalogues en DLL avec mémorisation
- Association des fichiers .cdc avec le programme
- Amélioration des performances
- Correction de divers petit bug
- Nouvelle procedure d'installation

J'ai aussi remplace aujourd'hui trois catalogues par des nouvelles version :

- Sky2000 version 2 avec de nouvelles donnees d'Hipparcos.
- Washington Visual Double Star Catalog avec des donnees d'Hipparcos et
Tycho-2.
- PGC1999 la derniere version de ce catalogue contient 193'898 galaxies.

Il est possible d'utiliser le CDrom Tycho-2 avec cette version et je
prepare une version binaire plus compacte qui sera disponible prochainement.

Faite attention que le repertoire FTP ne sera pas mis a jours avant la
disponibilite de la version 2.5 finale. Utiliser les liens de la page de
telechargement pour prendre les nouveaux fichiers.

Toutes les modifications en relation avec les labels ou les annotations sur
les cartes sont reportees a la prochaine version.
