I am pleased to announce a new interface between Cartes du Ciel and Deepsky
2000 version 2.

Deepsky 2000 is a software that complement well Cartes du Ciel by its
extended possibility for selection, searching object and observation
logging. You can find more information about Deepsky 2000 from
http://www.deepsky2000.com .

You can now use Cartes du Ciel from Deepsky 2000 for the following function :
- Send objects from the Deepsky spreadsheet into Cartes du Ciel for display
on its star charts.
- View real sky CD images in Cartes du Ciel by selecting the object to view
from the Deepsky spreadsheet.
- Send objects from the Deepsky spreadsheet (GCVS catalog) into VarObs to
display detailed information on variable stars and to plot light curves.

This interface require Cartes du Ciel version 2.6, VarObs 1.24 and Deepsky
2000 version 2 that is actually available as a pre release version from
http://www.deepsky2000.com/beta.htm Look at the main web page for the
availability of the final version.

Deepsky 2000 is a commercial software but this not change in any way the
fact that Cartes du Ciel is and will remain a free software.

Other change :
A new Russian translation and an updated Thai translation are also
available from the download page.

I am now in holiday till end of July. You can use the discussion group if
you have any question about the use of the program, probably an experienced
user will respond.

Il est désormais possible d'utiliser Cartes du Ciel depuis Deepsky 2000
pour les fonctions suivantes :
- Dessin des objets envoyés à partir de la feuille de calcul de Deepsky 2000
- Affichage de l'image RealSky d'un objet sélectionné
- Envoi des données d'étoiles variables à VarObs.

Cette interface demande la version 2.6 de Cartes du Ciel, VarObs 1.24 et la
version 2 de Deepsky 2000 qui est actuellement disponible en pre-release
depuis http://www.deepsky2000.com/beta.htm . Regardez sur la page
principale pour la disponibilité de la version finale.

Deepsky 2000 est un produit commercial mais cela ne modifie en rien le fait
que Cartes du Ciel est et restera un logiciel gratuit.

Autres modification :
Une nouvelle traduction en Russe et une mise à jours de la traduction et de
l'aide en Thailandais sont disponible depuis ma page de telechargement.
