Description

Mechanical, optical and usage issues for the small and medium Dobs (Orion's Intelliscopes and SkyQuest XT Dobs, Celestron, Zhumell and SkyWatcher Dobs etc.) manufactured by Guan Sheng and Synta. Similar scopes are available from many dealers worldwide under a variety of labels. Questions about the scopes, about auxilliary equipment, about dealers, descriptions of useful modifications, hardware-related tips, do-it-yourself fixes, etc. are welcome.

This is NOT a "general astronomy info" group. PLEASE- NO POSTS about observing logs, star parties, the weather, etc. There are other, better groups on those subjects.

Don't forget our links, photos and files sections. These were designed to help novice as well as experienced (and prospective) users and tinkerers. A wealth of useful information can be found via links to our Member's Web Pages.

Intelliscope Users: For detailed technical descriptions and solutions to problems, follow our link (Links Section, Members Web Pages) to Mark De Smet's Intelliscope Web Page. Information there is available nowhere else on the web.

To search the skyquest-telescopes message archives, we recommend using skyinsight.net's Archive Quick Search, rather than the more limited Yahoo search engine. Simply type the word or words in the box below and click on the "Submit" button.
