The Slide Rule Loaner Program at the International Slide Rule Museum
(ISRM) www.sliderulemuseum.com offers sets of identical SR's to
educators for use in introducing students to performing calculations
on our favorite 'computer'. Once I receive a request on a school
letterhead, I send the SR's out on my own expense. They pay the
postage to send them back. So far everything has gone well, but
invariably, they are always out longer than planned.
I'm finding that some teachers need SR's for month's at a time, even
full semesters, in order to finish their courses. Consequently, I
need additional loaner sets. I'm a bit hesitant to promote the
program other than from those folks who run across the site, as it
may be difficult to support the potential demand. Currently I have
two full sets (25 slide rules) Acu-math 401's (donated by George
Keene), and Pickett N500ES's (purchased NOS by ISRM), and a smaller
set of 8 Acu-math 400's. We also have an ISRM supporter, Robert
Adams, who also provides a set of 20 Fedra's directly from Australia
for educators there.

My most immediate need is to build up a matching set of at least 25-
30 K&E 4081's to suppliment what I already have. Having them all the
same helps the class move along as students find and manipulate the
scales, and trade advice with each other. I want to offer a set
of 'woodies' (they are so nice to handle) and show the upper end of
SR's that were used in the past.
If any of you have extras that you would be willing to part with, out
of your abundance, your K&E SR's will be put to good use. I have
about 7 SIC (Ricoh) cursors that I can modify to replace a SR that
suffered from KERCS, so if you have a cursor-less K&E, please send it
along as well.
A future goal will be to build a set of Post Versalogs, (the choice
of the US Air Force academy), but sets of other slide rule brands are
welcome as well. For those collectors in other countries, if you have
a set available to loan within your homeland, let me tell my visitors
(30,000 hits/day) how to get in contact with you.
Thanking you in advance for your time, consideration and generosity.
