Hi to all of you slide rule folks. I just became 65 and I read an e-
mail from a fellow collector that stated that he was 66 and that his
life was probably winding down. This is a bunch of horse feathers!
WOW! What a downer!!!! With all of your life experiences and skills
I should think that this will enable you to stretch and find new
things to learn and use.I have also read several e-mails stating the
same fate about interest in slide rules. This to me is also a
downer! Its like saying that the study of history is not of interest
and no longer useful. Most of you folks are very well educated I
can't say the same for myself. I have just now begun to try and give
myself the liberal education that I missed. I will never finish and
I find this comforting because I should never become bored and find
my life winding down. For those of you that don't know where or to
who to leave your slide rules, books, ect., why not leave all of
this stuff to the slide rule group museum and information center.
Some of you have the drive and know how to start this. Its not a new
idea. I collect stamps and the American Philatelic Society has
developed a reach section that is now second to none. This research
area is open to all members and has been used by many universities
and our government. Your thoughts Please. Be well and keep
collecting, Ed Cramer
