Electrical Engineering Slide Rules ?   Message List

Re: Electrical Engineering Slide Rules ?

Both the Hemmi 266 and 256 belong on this list. (There seems to be
a bit of confusion, a typo or something on this point.) Relay/Ricoh
made at least one under the Micronta label.

I would delete the Pickett N600 as it is a general purpose log log
rule.

There are a cople of fairly standard types, the simplex with motor
scales, and the duplex hyperbolic rules. Beyond that, I've never
heard any definition given.

I believe the K&E Cooke Radio rule dates from early WWII. It had
the 2pi scale and has been copied by Picket (The N515-T) and Aristo.

I have a really unusual rule that is for calculating finish, doping,
resisitivity, etc. of a silicon bole as used for making
semiconductors. Talk about a rule that was working for its own
demise!
