Dear Sankarshan
use BusyBox-2.x and you'll be able
compile the Roootfile system that will fit into the
floppy along with the kernel

well, on linux, fdformat /dev/fd01440 or fdformat /dev/fd01722 if the older machine can handle it then do the dd command but with /dev/fd01722 instead of...
