Greetings, Web Services fans.

The Axis team is pleased to announce the availability of Axis (Java)
version 1.3. This version gives Axis the ability to run inside applets,
more efficiently process attachments, and preliminary support for MTOM,
not to mention the usual round of bug fixes. More info is available in
the changelog.html in the release.

You can find the release at:

http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/ws/axis/1_3/

The Axis webpage (which contains info on mailing lists, bug reports,
etc) can be found, as always, at:

http://ws.apache.org/axis

Thanks, and enjoy!

Doug,

We love interop face-to-face events of all kinds. Lack of interop events is what hurts.

I understood - just wanted to make sure you, and others, were aware of IBM's
full-scenario endpoints - which are there for continued full spec interop testing
and not just for 'feedback' on the specs as you suggest below.

NxM full spec interop events yes.  A '1xM subset of the spec' event is something
different isn't it?  :-)

I can't speak to whether or not IBM will participate in the event.

Thanks Doug,

It’s good to hear about IBM’s continuing interest in WS-* interop testing.

You seem to have misunderstood my mail – this is an invite to a F2F meeting - the Windows Communication Foundation (aka Indigo) interop *plug-fest* we will hold in Redmond on November 7th – 10th.

The event is focused on the product-level interop with WCF. Unlike the previous WS-* Workshops, this event is not focused on getting feedback for the WS-* specs.  Based on our experience with soapbuilders, such F2F events are super-effective at advancing interoperability between products.

We are encouraged by the wide support from the WS-* community for this plug-fest, and we look forward to IBM joining us at the F2F in November.

Kirill,
  Thanks for the notice of your interop endpoints.  IBM has endpoints up for most of WS-* specifications you mentioned covering the scenarios as specified in the interop workshop's scenario documents.  The endpoints should cover the full range of features specified in those scenario documents and not just the subset your version of the scenario documents mention.  Based on the activity logs they seem to be widely used and appear to be quite useful to the WS community.  We welcome MSFT's efforts to join this adhoc/off-line testing process and hope you keep your endpoint up indefinitely as we hope to.  Please see the respective WS-* Yahoo group for the URL of the endpoint of interest - or feel free to contact me at dug@... if you're unable to locate the URL.
thanks

Hi Kirill:

Is this meant to be a community focused event where everyone attempts to
interoperate with everyone, or really a "hub-and-spoke" model where it's
just about WCF getting testing experience with everyone else?

Hi,
    I am creating a web service using JWSDP,Netbeans for my company for
submitting credit card transactions. Previously the company used to
send the credit card info as HTTP Post requests to the company's
payment gateway and get a response back in the form of a HTTP
response. What do I need to do on the server side so that it can also
understand SOAP messages(requests and responses). Currently I am
getting a response "Unable to connect to the server" response when I
try to send the credit card info in a SOAP request message to the
payment gateway.

Thanks
Nami

We implement (large parts of) those for WS-Management. If anyone has a
"management station" that would like to do some interop, let me know,
and we'll see about putting a device on the network.

Can u specify the specific XmlAttribute for showing the size of arrray?
How to apply XmlAttribute to member of class?
And I am using DataType XmlElementAttribute for a member 'parmeterValue' but the serialized document doesn't reflect that.

You need to use the [XmlAttribute] attribute to specify what attribute(s) to add to the elements.

Why would you want to do that? The whole point of soap is that's its
a unified way of sending messages from any kind of client to any
server. The Body and Envelope tags are part of the standard that
constitute a soap message. Without these most soap servers won't
work, unless you particularly wanted to build your own low-level soap
server that didn't read these tags.

Please can someone help me?
I'm trying to connect to my NuSoap server
from Excel. I configured my client using the web server references
tool. It uses MS SOAP 3.0. It works fine in the main, except when I want to
implement
sessions. I create my named session id when I login and pass it back
(encrypted) to the caller (Excel, in this case). When I try to logout,
I pass the encrypted sid back to my NuSOAP server.
Unfortunately, it can't find the session.
However, when I test the same methods using a NuSOAP client that I
implemented in a php script, it works fine!

Upon a bit further investigation I think the problem is that the HTTP
header generated from Excel doesn't contain the cookie. Unfortunately, I don't
know how
to see the generated http message I send from Excel to my server. Can you shed
some light on what I'm doing wrong and how to put it right?

I have been looking for days for a solution under the MSDN website and
other forums and the closest I have found was a piece of code that said
I should do the following:
Dim soapHttpChannelOptions1 As SoapHttpChannelOptions
Dim returnValue As CookieContainer
returnValue = soapHttpChannelOptions1.CookieContainer
Dim sampleValue As CookieContainer
soapHttpChannelOptions1.CookieContainer = sampleValue

Unfortunately, my VBA code can't seem to recongise this type. I've
downloaded and installed (by double-clicking the setup.exe file) the
WSE 2 service pack 3. But this made no difference.

Many thanks

insert an additional namespace into the soap envelope when a message
is sent from my program. No matter what I try the namespace does
not get added.

As an example I put together a service that sends an integer message.
The outgoing soap message looks like the following.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<soap:Envelope
       xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope"
       xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
       xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
   <soap:Body>
     <OutMsg xmlns="http://schemas.example.org/MyService">
       <Val>777</Val>
     </OutMsg>
   </soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>

I want to add a namespace to the Soap:Envelope so that it is the
following:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<soap:Envelope
       xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope"
       xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
       xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
       xmlns:mys="http://schemas.example.org/MyService" >
   <soap:Body>
     <OutMsg">
       <Val>777</Val>
     </OutMsg>
   </soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>

The generated class code looks like this:

[System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute
("wsdl", "2.0.50727.26")]
[System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()]
[System.ComponentModel.DesignerCategoryAttribute("code")]
[System.Web.Services.WebServiceBindingAttribute
(Name="SimpleServiceSoap12Binding",
Namespace="http://schemas.example.org/MyService")]
public partial class MyService :
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol
{

     private System.Threading.SendOrPostCallback
OutMsgOperationCompleted;

     /// <remarks/>
     public MyService() {
         this.SoapVersion =
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapProtocolVersion.Soap12;
         this.Url = "http://serverURL/MyService";
     }
     /// <remarks/>
     public event OutMsgCompletedEventHandler OutMsgCompleted;

     //***** code I added to add additional namespaces *****
     [XmlNamespaceDeclarations]
     public XmlSerializerNamespaces soapEnvNs;

     /// <remarks/>
     [System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapDocumentMethodAttribute
("http://schemas.example.org/MyService/OutMsg",
RequestNamespace="http://schemas.example.org/MyService",
OneWay=true,
Use=System.Web.Services.Description.SoapBindingUse.Literal,
ParameterStyle=System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapParameterStyle.Wrapp
ed)]
     public void OutMsg(int Val,

[System.Xml.Serialization.XmlAnyElementAttribute()]
System.Xml.XmlElement[] Any,

[System.Xml.Serialization.XmlAnyAttributeAttribute()]
System.Xml.XmlAttribute[] AnyAttr)
     {
          this.Invoke("OutMsg", new object[] {
                     Param,
                     Any,
                     AnyAttr});
     }
.  the rest removed

}

In the calling code I am doing the following to set the namespace:

     MyService myService = new MyService();
     myService.soapEnvNs = new XmlSerializerNamespaces();
     myService.soapEnvNs.Add
("mys", "http://schemas.example.org/MyService");
     myService.OutMsg(777, null, null);

The code all compiles fine but the namespace just doesn't get added.

Has anybody done this before that could help me figure out why this
is not working?

Jay

I am helping a client build a Web service from PHP code. The client's
server supports only PHP 4.3 so we cannot use the PHP 5 built-in SOAP
functions.

It looks like our options then are NuSOAP, PEAR and PHP-SOAP. My
question is, does anyone know which is faster - NuSOAP or PEAR? We're
concerned about latency.

I understand that PHP-SOAP is faster than the other two packages, but
PHP-SOAP is not updated much so we're reluctant to use it.
