WELCOME TO THE SOFILAW DISCUSSION LIST



SoFiLaw stands for "Social Finance Law group". It is linking up people who are trying to solve regulation problems that "social finance", in its most various forms, is facing in Europe and beyond. Discussion topics may therefore involve issues such as banking regulation, banking supervision, status difficulties, fiscal problems or eligibility difficulties for government support.



The list has been started by INAISE (the International Association of Investors in the Social Economy), an international network of new financial organisations that have emerged these last 10 to 15 years, serving mainly those sectors that the "mainstream" banks are no more willing or able to finance. INAISE members include a variety of financial organisations, such as community banks, micro-finance organisations, local investment clubs, environmental banks and credit cooperatives serving the social and mutual economy, fair trade or disadvantaged groups.
