This list was started in December, 2005, in response to concerns about the sustainability of industrial farming systems and the nutrient density of the food it produces. The group's core interests involve wide ranging discussions about the farming and gardening methods, especially Albrechtian approaches that maximize nutritional outcomes. Many other topics of interest to people who grow a significant amount of their own food are also discussed. This group is gently moderated by Steve Solomon, who authors vegetable gardening books.
