You can obviously disable the primary IDE channel. You should also be able
to change what your primary boot device is. My system has two different
SATA controllers and I wanted to use the nVidia one as my primary, so I had
to change that in the CMOS settings. When I installed Solaris I simply
chose the first disk on the nVidia controller.

Is there a way to prevent Solaris from targeting the primary master IDE. I'd prefer to use one of the SATA. Lite just turned on, "CMOS" However, i'm still...
