I am very sorry to hear the you have such difficulties attending the
conference. Your contributions would be very important, especially so since
you are planned to chair Session 6b on Near-term Demonstrators and
Experiments ... exactly the subject JAXA wants to talk to us and you (John
and you) on possible near term cooperation.
Unfortunately the wording of your email suggests that this decision is quite
final ... in this case: could you send someone from JPL who could 1. give the
talk on your behalf (paper S5a-1 Advanced in Space Solar Power for Science
and Exploration) and maybe assist to this meeting with the Japanese? .... or
if John is the reason for your additional workload, tell John to finally
decide to come to Granada with you:-) (John is on cc)
