No theory other than a SWX glitch. I have seen other similarly frustrating things before. But a trouble shooting technique would be to go through the sketch

cboose - Just a thought....could you have a sketch entity somewhere outside your viewing area that you don't pick up and transfer when you do a copy/paste?

This is a first for me. A closed proflie that won't become a revolved solid because SW thinks it's not closed. But only in the file where I need it. If I copy

Re: Crop View Disabled
Make sure that is not a cropped view on which you're trying to add another crop view. Check the view icon in the feature manager. If it looks like a crop view
