Unfortunately, no. They're very fussy around here about that sort of
thing, and in this case, you'd be getting an almost completed casting
part that's around 11 megabytes or so in size. I'm very busy right now,
but maybe I can make a simple example part so you can see what I mean,
within the next couple of days.

Start a new drawing. Now insert a view of the part/assy containing Description as a Configuration Specific Property. Now start a note, click on link to property. Select "Model in view specified in sheet properties" and from the pull down menu, select description and OK. You are done.
If you delete all the views from the drawing, the will change to $PRPSHEET:{Description}. And if you add any part/assy view containing Description as a Configuration Specific Property, the note will get updated.
If you don't want to show the empty note or it being displayed as $PRPSHEET:{Description}, then put the note in the sheet format. For this, right click on the sheet and select Edit sheet format. Now add the note as described above. Just make sure you have a minimum single view in the drawing containing Description as a Configuration Specific
Property.

Problem is, with nothing holding the sketch spline in place (such as a ref to another object), it ends up moving to Neptune or some similar far off place on the screen after I've modified the plane it was on. What I'm doing now to minimize the damage is this: Right before adjusting the plane's angle or location, I copy the sketch spline to the clipboard. Then I modify that plane however I need to - after which, of course the sketch spline turns to spaghetti -but hah! I still have an un-skrewed-up one on my clipboard. So I delete the one SW messed up, and replace it with the good copy. A kind of Rube Goldberg-with-a- Clipboard work-around.
I'm still hoping someone else has a better method, though. Hello? Anyone?

I am not a wizard at this but it sounds similar to probs I have had in

with the other stuff. I select the sketch and delete all relationships
in that sketch and bam then when I need to do whatever it works out for
me. the reason they never did what I wanted before was because they
still had the relationship with the other part or drawing.
Might try that

any way to keep a spline polygon's coordinates fixed in relationship to
a particular plane's coordinate system?

At SolidWorks, we never stop thinking about design. How can we make the software
better for you, our users? How can we improve this feature? How can we make you
more efficient? What's the best way to design this? Will users understand this?
Will it be discoverable? Learnable? Usable?
Every release we make hundreds - sometimes thousands - of decisions that affect
the experience of using our products. And our best decisions are those that are
informed by you, our users. We conduct usability tests on an ongoing basis,
throughout the entire year. This helps us get early feedback, and ensures that
our designs are on the right track to meet your needs.
The vast majority of our tests are done remotely via the Web. A typical test
lasts anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, and is exploratory and free-form. You get
to see new or improved features before they are finished and we get to hear your
ideas and opinions on how to make them better for you. The best part is,
because sessions are remote, you can participate in usability testing our
designs without ever leaving your office.
We're always looking for people to participate in our usability tests, and we
like to include all levels of expertise, from people just starting out to
experts. If you're interested in joining our pool of SolidWorks usability
testers, please fill out our short sign up questionnaire. When your profile

Hi All,
Okay, I have a question on load testing. The product I am working on is going to be made out of extruded ABS plastic. The extrusions are intended to slide into eachother.
Is there any way to test an assembly of 5-6 extrusions locked together and put force in the center of the entire assembly? It would basically be a square, but with ridges. OR do I have to do a new drawing mocking an assembly to test it?
I dont think that the simulation Xpress provide the analysis for assemblies, so u need to obtain the simulation package

Hi All,
Okay, I have a question on load testing.

Open SolidWorks and go to design library (on the right side). Under Supplier content, click on CircuitWorks and then ctrl+click on the icon below to download the zip file for CW parts.

Though with student edition everything is included but still suggest you to check with your VAR if SolidWorks Flow Simulation is included in you package or not. Do send them a snap shot of error message

Hi,
In my opinion, the easiest and faster for you is to go to yours local VAR. I'm sure you'll find support there.

Hi all
I have recently bought SolidWorks premium Educ. edition, when I try to activate the SolidWorks Flow Simulation this message appears
Flow Simulatio Authorization Failed
I am working on a project for the class, and i am now totally halted.
