New Old FAN silent - whoowho!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #19897 of 19939 |
Everyone here still alive? Stilll with ur 505 I see.

Still using my 650mhz Z505. The only thing am complainig these days
are the new flash contents, and some WMV files. Am thinking the cpu
can hack it, no prob, the prob is in the video system. For everyday
surfing though, hey, I don't need no new laptop! :D

NEW OLD FAN - a while back my fan developed a bad noise so I panicked
and scoured the NET for a replacement. No way though was I going to
spend usd$100+ from the outfits that were selling them. Fortunately, I
found one at eBay for like $30. Didn't install it though 'coz after I
cleaned the old one, the noise abated. Saving the extra one for down
the road I said. Yesterday was the day, and I thought, OK, time for
another cleaning, which I did, but this time the noise stayed. OK,
time to swap in that fan I bought a while back... WOW! whadda
difference. The new fan is basically totally silent! See what some
replacement part can do to an old laptop? :D (yes, I looked, the fan
is turning).

Been running on 512k for ~18 mos, 'coz I wanted to keep several
applications open simultaneously and am too impatient to wait for HD
to load. But that's proly it though, next upgrade will be a brand new
laptop... <sight> Sony 505s.. best looking notebook EVA.
