eeepc? Bah.
I have my 10 year old n505x with the HD replaced with a cheap CF->IDE
adapter and a 4GB compact flash 'solid state disk'.
Been running solidly and silently for 2 years.
It's a bit slow at flashy websites, but is still useable.
I run lightweight linux (Ubuntu/Xfce). I store 'stuff' on a NAS box on
the network.

Must admit, though I normally use my wife's SZ and only turn on the
baby when she's using hers and I'm too impatient to wait :-)
