Well spotted. I use the Build Library function, usually the known entries sub
choice, to avoid too much quizzing of the device by the
overly burocratric SoundDiver.

I had the Trinity only version at first, and in some ways preferred it for its
simpler minded operation. The module looked the same when I bought the ver3.0,
but had a few glitches until I updated to 3.05.
Having the printed manual helped as the default settings often slow you up; so
did an exploration of Galaxy from Opcode, many of the key features of SoundDiver
seem inherited from Opcode's brilliant program. You can for instance, copy names
from your patchlist and paste ino Excel directly. Takes quite a lot of faff to
do that from SoundDiver.

There were many problems with the CD authorizing on W98, but W2000 and XP are
OK. I do have a new error message when I start the program in XP but no problems
if I just plough on. Current usage mainly Triton Rack patch frenzy, but have a
pile of old stuff that works fine.

In answer to the posting of the TRRACK~1.PCG file with the question above:
No, not until you load it into the device it is intended for.
The ~ character denotes that the device or a CD writing software has truncated
the name, confusing things a bit.
It's the factory preload for a Triton Rack.
It's part of the set you get on the two 3.5in floppies, containing 3 or 4 banks
of Programs and 3 or 4 banks of Combination, the Factory Drumkits, and
Arpeggiator settings.
If you need it as SoundDiver I have it. It's 2.54Mb instead of the 446K though.
There are compatibility issues with the various Triton models due to sample ROM
variations.
The Songs are on the second disk. Korg have downloads of this on their site,
with instructions on how to re-create the floppies.

If you still care about using SD on Win98, check if those problems go
away if you rename "ASPIENUM.VXD" to "ASPIENUM.VXD.BAK" (it's normally
somewhere in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder). If you don't need this
driver for something else, you can leave it like that, otherwise just
rename it before you let SD authorize and then rename it back to the
original afterwards.

I guess you are talking about the "ping...burble" thing saying "Text
not found!" that comes up (twice!) when you start SD. I'm still not
fully sure where this comes from (the error message is about a missing
text ressource really), but try the following: rename the "Universal
Module Cache.PRF" file in the Diver folder, then start SD, close SD
and let it save the Preferences file - this will rebuild the cache and
clean up any remnants from the main preferences. Unless one of the
adaptations or modules has a bug that triggers this message it should
now be fine. I know that things go wrong again when some adaptation
tries to open a MIDI port that does not exist anymore or has received
a different name or index, which is common with USB ports. I
recommend to let SD only connect to MIDIyoke virtual interfaces and
connect those via MIDItrix to the real interfaces. A description of
how to set this up in the Readme for the Blofeld adaptation:

http://Synth.Stromeko.net/Downloads.html#WaldorfSDada

Once in a blue moon SD will still come up with the error message and I
have to kill the cache again, but it doesn't happen quite as often
than it did before this setup.

Thanks. Will give this a try. I had to end up just doing a midi dump using
SysEx Librarian, in all it's hexadecimal and ASCII glory. I wanted to get all
the patches saved before I started overwriting patches with my own. Well,
hopefully SysEx Librarian saved everything in good working condition.

Thanks again.

Hello all,

Been having some problems latley.

Two Sounddivers:

1. Full version 3, is working with a old Virus plug-in. Loopback tests all pass.

2. Virus OEM standalone version, most recent version loads up and then has
problems communicating with the Virus, can never get it to work. Complains of
communication errors, ask's me to do loopback test, which always fails.

So, I think instead of bashing my head trying to get the Virus OEM standalone to
work, I should just try to get the latest virus version for the Full version of
SD. Problem is that it's no longer on the Accees Home Page.

If anyone has access to the last Virus plug in for the Full Version of SD could
you please point me to it?

Final question: Can I extract the virus portion (.dll) from the OEM version and
shove it into my full version install folder of SD?

MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Hi All,

I've been looking through the Sounddiver manual and trying to figure out how to
use to Sounddiver to delete patches on my synth.

Okay, first off, I'm using Sounddiver Virus 3.1.0 and my synth is a Virus C.

I've tried the clear option under the Edit menu and then transmitting the
library back to my Virus C, but, the patches that I cleared are still there.

For my Virus users, I'm trying to clear the patches from banks A and B.

It seems like the Clear menu option is the correct one, but maybe I'm using it
incorrectly.

If so, please let me know how to use it appropriately.

Thanks.

Hi,

Sorry if this is an annoying question, but just wondered if there was
still any way to get SoundDiver 3 for Windows? I had it years ago when I
was using Win98, and have a need for it now again, but can't find my disks.

Cheers,

So does Logic 9 run on a G5 Mac?
According to Apple it requires an Intel Mac:

Ingo is correct about the specs for Logic 9, but I have read several
forums where folks say they *are* running v9 on a non-Intel Mac.

Do you mean you have SoundDiver already open and running? I always
avoid this as there were known bugs where SD would affect Logic songs
and cause funny transpositions and problems in Logic. Better to open
SD, set up your hardware, quit, log out and back in and then start
Logic.

it runs 100% because LP9 is UB
Only issue is soundiver kills LP9---I believe it is fixable by copying
a file from a LP8 package or LP7 package
Im working the issue and will post a workaround--in the meantime read

Here is fix to get Logic 9 running with sound-diver--both now work
fine--tested on intel imac 24" 2.8 and G5 Dual core both on 10.5.8
I will upload XSKey.Framework folder to files section
David
"EASY FIX:
Choose your old Logic 8.app and right-click to Show Package Contents
You will see an XSKey.Framework folder, r-click to copy it.
Go to Library\Frameworks and r-click to paste item.
Thats's it. "

I own a Korg SDD-3300 Triple Delay. When I start a request for all
programs of this delay in Sounddiver no names are displayed.
Sounddiver receives a lot of midi-data from the delay but shows no
program names in the adaption.
When I look at the data in the midimonitor I can find all names of the
transfered delay-programs. So I think that there's something wrong with
the adaption.
I want to program an editor, because at the moment for the SDD-3300 you
can use SD only as a patch librarian.

Does anybody know whats going on there?
Thank you.

Best regards

Howdy,

I have not used SD on my MKS for a few years and now its not working. I have a
MOTU MidiExpress 128. I can get my M1Ex adaption to work, but not my MKS70.
I am certain the cabling is fine, as when I hook up to Midi-In and Midi Thru on
the MKS, the loop back test passes fine. I can do a manual bulk dump from the
MKS70, and see the midi dump on the Midi Monitor. So this proves my out cable &
connector work.

It seems some how the SD adaption is not configured right???
In global I expanded to 8 buffers with 128 Kb per port, and still no luck. I
tried some different Thru channels and Delays but still no luck.

Any suggestion what to try next?

PS: I did notice that in my hardware USB controllers, if SiS PCI to USB Enhanced
Host Controller is enabled SD did not pass the loop back test. I have it
disabled when I run SD.

Hi, are the MIDI functions on the MKS set up correctly? System Exclusive needs

Hi isn't it supposed to be MIDI-Out on the MKS?

Howdy,

When I say it's not working, I mean that the SD does not recieve a MKS70 bulk
dump (which has to be done manually due to midi implementation limits of the
mks70). Yes I hook up to midi-out, and midi-in when I try the dump. The
interesting part is that if I use Midi Monitor in SD, I can see all the bulk
dump messages!!! they are just not being recieved in the adaption. So that's
why I am guessing it's the adaption buffer setup, midi set-up, and or the
configurable delays ??? Not sure where to go next as I have played around with
these a bit.

SD is notorious though for not taking changes unless you blow away the
preference files ... so I tried that a few times as well. Anyone got their
MKS70 adaption working can let me know what midi comm settings, buffer settings,
and thru/send delays they are using ...
