Hi folks,

I'm sending along some additional undergraduate summer internship
opportunities with NASA. These are similar to the announcement I
posted on Dec. 19, except these are directly from NASA and not
through Maine Space Grant. These have deadlines of Jan 16 and Jan
31, so interested student need to act fast. NASA is looking for
juniors or seniors with majors in engineering, math, computer science
or physical/life science and with a 3.0 or better average. Stipends
are $5k for 10 weeks, plus free airfare to the research center.
Pretty sweet!

Thanks for passing this around.

Rob

NASA's USRP Program for Undergraduate Students.

NOTE: This program is very similar to MSGC Aerospace Workforce
Development
Program, except that it is run directly by NASA (students would apply
to
NASA) and it is open to all students in the U.S. See attached flyer

Deadline is January 31, 2007 for the summer session

The NASA 2006 Undergraduate Student Research Program (USRP) is now
accepting
applications at: http://education.nasa.gov/usrp. Applications for the
summer
session are due by January 31, 2007 and applications for the fall
session
are due by February 28, 2007.

NASA is seeking undergraduate students from diverse communities who
are
interested in a challenging research experience at a NASA center.
Aligned
with NASA's research and development mission, USRP provides students
with a
technical mentor and excellent hands-on experience. Students may
apply for
a 10-week summer session or a 15-week fall session. The student
stipend
payment is $5,000 for summer and $7,500 for fall. A round-trip travel
allowance is also provided for students. The USRP seeks to extend and
strengthen NASA's commitment to educational excellence and university
research.

Students must meet the following eligibility requirements to
participate in
NASA's Undergraduate Student Research Program:

.Must be classified as a rising junior or senior after
Spring semester/quarter
.U.S. Citizenship
.Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited U.S. College or
University (community college students may apply, however
placement is contingent on matriculation into a four-year
institution)
.Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of
4.0 .Eligible
fields of study are academic majors or demonstrated
coursework or concentration in engineering, mathematics,
computer science or physical/life science
.Demonstrated strong interest/commitment to one of the above
career fields or disciplines (e.g., science/math/engineering
fairs, clubs or awards; tutoring/mentoring; internships or
other related experience)

More information and application materials is available on-line at
