: Dear AeroSpace Architects and Friends of AeroSpace Architecture,
: I am forwarding this announcement on behalf of Kurt Micheels who is
: organizing the Space Architecture Practice Workshop in one month
: from now. If you are coming to the ICES in Colorado Springs, please
: plan to stay through Friday, July 23 so that you can join us for
: this important and exciting workshop.
--------
: Colleagues,
: The Aerospace Architecture Subcommittee, Design Engineering
: Committee, AIAA will convene our third workshop entitled The
: Practice of Aerospace Architecture on Friday 23 July 2004
: immediately after conclusion of the the 34th International Congress
: on Enviromental Systems (ICES) in Colorado Springs, 19-22 July 2004.
: The location for the workshop should be announced in the next few
: days.
: The Issue...
: Practice of traditional architecture has evolved over thousands of
: years and has a "relatively" consistant structure. This structure
: is similar in some ways to the methods employed in management of
: design and construction of aircraft and spacecraft.
: Blending of traditional architectural practice principles with those
: established for aerospace projects may be necessary when we design
: spacecraft for long duration human habitation.
: Or...perhaps we learn from past mistakes and create a completely new
: approach for aerospace architecture project delivery?
: These are the primary topics for discussion in this year's workshop.
: An important perspective will be case studies in the practice of
: Space Architecture.
: Please consider them and provide a brief response - as we have done
: in the past two workshops - expressing attitudes, ideas or any
: thoughts you may have on this topic. Please email them to:
: <mailto:KAMatSEEDS@...>
: <kmicheels@...> before 16 July 2004.
Thank You, Kurt A. Micheels
