I hope someone can give me a bit of input as I really enjoy chemistry
but (More often than not!) find myself perplexed by and struggling
with it.

I have a triatomic molecule (BrF2-) which has these bands in the
following spectra:

Infrared Raman

596 cm-1 442cm-1

198cm-1

I need to assign these to asymmetric stretch, symmetric sgtretch and
bending modes. I'm afraid to say I'm a bit lost ...any suggestions
would be absolutely wonderful.
