Speech Application Developer – Java, SOAP, WebSphere

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an Application Developer with a worldwide leader in Speech Technology, this is a significant opportunity in a high-visibility role in the company's Professional Services Organization (PSO). You will build company's world class automated speech applications for industry-leading companies, many at the Fortune 50 level.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
 
Must have excellent software engineering skills, with three or more years developing with Java- and J2EE-based application servers. Excellent engineering judgment and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team are also essential prerequisites
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implement speech applications primarily in Java from a User Interface Design Specification

Implement backend and CTI interfaces primarily in Java from design specifications.  Experience with WebServices/SOAP is a big plus.

Perform source code management, release builds, and prepare release notes

Conduct unit test and internal QA testing of the application

Perform diagnostics to isolate and resolve issues

Install and integrate company products and the completed application within customer environments

Support Customer Acceptance Testing, deployment, and tuning of the application

Work closely with customer, Product, and Partner personnel as necessary to resolve issues as they arise

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

3 years corporate experience developing Java applications, utilizing J2EE application servers such as Tomcat, WebSphere, BEA

Experience with Servlets and XML

Excellent analysis and diagnostic skills

Excellent oral and written communications skills

Working knowledge of scripting language, with Perl strongly preferred

Able to work independently, but seek help when needed

Ability to work well with other technical experts in user interfaces and speech technology

Experience in VXML, computer telephony, or speech recognition a plus

Experience in C and C++ a plus

US citizenship required
