Hi everyone.
Life has been moving at ten times the speed of light lately. A large move, =
a
new job, starting college, and learning three different programming
languages has basically eviscerated my free time. I simply lack the time th=
is
project deserves.
Before I go any further, I would like to recap this project's accomplishmen=
ts
thus far:
- Created an (almost) fully featured window editor that *compiles directly =
to
hexadecimal resource code*
- Created a similar system for menu editing.
- Created a complete prototype IDE with project management features
- Designed, implemented, and coordinated dozens of original and pre-build
tools and utilities.
- Uncovered tons of incredible low-level information that can be useful to =
any
similar project.
- Had a BLAST
I think we can safely say that this project has been very successful -- so =
far.
Unfortunately, with me as the lead, it will never go any farther. I simply =
do not
have the time to devote to this project anymore. I love it, and plan to con=
tribute
more in the future, but right now I cannot serve as an effective project le=
ad
and Wildfire is suffering for it.
Therefore, I propose we elect Jonathan Bettencourt (AKA Jonathyn Bet'nct)
project lead. I have nominated him for a variety of reasons:
- He is young and hence has more free time than some of us older members.
- He has a great deal of technology as his disposal (a la Kreative Korporat=
ion)
which he can effectively integrate into Wildfire (should he choose to do so=
.)
- Along with many other members, he has the skills necessary to continue th=
is
project in its current vein.
- I believe he understands the project goals and philosphies as well as
anyone here.
I have spoken with Jonathyn and he is very agreeable to the proposal.
If anyone has any objections to his appointment as project lead, please say=
so now. If there are a significant number of objections, further discussion=
will
be required. Otherwise, he will be appointed by default.
Please understand that a change in leadership is necessary to save Wildfire=
from ultimate stagnation. It is a duty I simply cannot perform at this time=
. Thank
you for your participation.

P.S. I apologize for the 'special notice' but I don't know how many develop=
ers
read the list regularly anymore.
