Thanks for the ecourgement ya'll and is much welcomed.
Don't know what it is but somtimes things just don't want to work out?
Started out with a 3 to 1 mix and coated the speaker nicely with a good
artist brush.Coat #2 I made a little thicker and that went on fine.
Coat #3 I made even thicker ,like pancake mix...a little to thick but
managed to paint it on nicely.I checked the original speaker for
thickness and it appears it has to have more than one coat or there not
telling what else they used.I stopped at 3 coats and I'll wait for it
to dry overnight. The first coat was really absorbed fast by the dry
speaker paper, when it dryed thr second coat dryed a little slower and
the 3rd coat will cure overnight. It does not have the shiny appearance
of the original, don't feel comfortable about applying another coat.
What are your thoughts on this?
The original seems harder to the touch but the glue isn't dryed
yet, will see in the morning. How long do you think I should wait before
I use it?
The speaker is 4 ohm and has the right numbers for the early style!
Peace,
Bill

Bill, Don't put anymore on until it dries thoroughly and is hard to the touch when you tap it with the back of a fingernail. Elmers will dry to a shine but not...

Even though the glue sets quickly, it might not be fully dry for a few days (especially if it's damp out) - that could have something to do with it not being...

Some of you might have noticed that I've never owned a Spica speaker, and I'm now looking seriously at some TC-50i's. I'm wondering how the glue should look on...

On mine, it seems thicker there, but it's difficult to tell if it was added extra or if it just accumulated there from running down the cone while wet. It...

The LS3/5A "white belly" as LS-crazy Asia tags it. I have heard at least 10 pairs of TC-50s though the years, and I own two pairs at the moment, both Post-88....

I don't really think it is as big a deal as we are making of it .. or at least it wasn't to Spica. I think they were lucky to get a run of woofers that had...

It could be that the extra bead also helps to reinforce the juncture between the cone and the voice coil - which is sort of a weak point machanically. It...

My guess would be that the variations in efficiency would be due to batch variation in the magnets (which used to be pretty bad in the old days). It would take...
