Description

A discussion group on schiefspieglers, Herschellian, CHiefspieglers, Yolos, off-axis Newtonians and other such scopes.

My second attempt at making a sandwich mirror. My first attempt was a 10 inch mirror but not all the bonds were good probably due to different thickness spacers. Destructive testing showed some bonds broke easily and some stronger than the glass itself. This is a 16 inch mirror made of 2 3/4 inch plates using silicon bonding and this time I ground all the spacers to the same thickness.
